The abbey of Scourmont (Trappist of Chimay)

 

 

During the summer of 1850, a small group of monks settles on the wild highlands of Scourmont near Chimay.

A farm, a brewery and a cheese factory were built around the monastery.

Scourmont Abbey was at the forefront of several economic activities, which allowed regional development to

took off.

Brasserie des Fagnes

 

Brewery in Mariembourg, in the Belgian province of Namur, known for the beer Super des Fagnes.

In 1998, Frédéric Adant founded the brewery, which also houses a small museum with parts of the old brasserie Degauquier from Chimay.
